Professor Black Truth on the NFL / Super Bowl Sunday
View: https://youtu.be/NrPye66tNT8

I'm actually very disappointed to see a lot of people here talking and raving about last night's Super Bowl. What in the twilight zone on and off hell...

I want us black people to have fun and enjoy life just like everyone else, but can we please be more productive and not continue to relapse into this longtime American tradition that helps to keep us subjugated?

I think there has to be a balance. It’s kind of tough I think we should be boycotting the NFL because of its racism but also allowing each other the ability to relax.

That’s why here you will see a divergence, itS all about Black empowerment but through all the different facets of Black life…cooking, gaming, exercising, etc.

Is there another tradition that Black people can starting look into creating and celebrating? We need a long-term transitional plan to go from the mainstream to exclusivity to and for our people that we control.

I think this will be a natural byproduct of getting on code. You want the symptom to go away and rightfully so but it’s only going to happen after we fix the disease. Niggas loving the super bowl is a symptom not a disease just like Jim Jones whining in Gucci. We need to keep doing the work of educating our people and getting them in alignment and the ancillary blocks will fall in place.

ART I'm all for boycotting the NFL, NBA hell even throw in MLB. But like Bruh Man said what's the alternative? I don't think watching the Super Bowl or its Halftime show is going to be setting black people back for years, the way continuing to vote blue no matter who will. Do you? I don't think boycotting the NBA All Star game or the NBA playoffs is going to put black people in a bind the way putting money into a collection plate every sunday for religious salvation and a pulpit pimp's vacation will. Do you?

I can watch the NBA, NFL or even MLB and STILL be B1 because I'm a lover of those sports. OUTSIDE of the leagues they represent.
What I can't be is B1 and continue to vote Democrat. What I can't do is claim I'm B1 while still putting money in a collection plate on sunday to assist religious coons drunk off their proximity to supremacy as they continue to tell us to keep hoping and praying that white people will be nice to us one day.

Now I'm not saying we can't discuss and criticize these leagues, and put pressure on them, but what I am saying is we can't be the type of "woke" Blacks who want to be "SO BLACK" you boycott yourself out of living life. That's counter intuitive at minimum it's mentally unhealthy at best.

And let me be clear I'm not even saying you're wrong, because theoretically you aren't. However, we have to be smarter than the situation right now and understand that we have an entire government and its country hell bent on our entire and complete annihilation. That alone just feels like we have bigger fish to fry than being worried about the impact watching a 3 hour football game and a 15 minute halftime show has on Black America. Nevertheless, I understand where you're coming from and we do have to figure out a way to break free from these leagues, but that isn't as important a task at this moment as getting black people on code politically, economically and philosophically. This game we're playing is chess, not checkers.

I've been saying ALL athletes should get "The Blue Flu" all at once, since Colin Kaepernick, but it seems their bag is more important than WS within the sports industry.
I haven't watched any sports in 7 years, but wanted the Bengals to win. I couldn't not watch the halftime show, guilty. Haven't seen a concert in 7 years time as well.
I keep waiting for the time to occur when ALL the Black athletes walk out, but that hasn't happened yet!
I'm thinking Deion Sanders & Snoop Dogg will turn it around & Black millionaires & billionaires will join in & support.
Instead of going to WS for a piece of the action, create your own & OWN IT! 💯

PBT’s point is that by supporting these sports, you are funding the billionaires who are pushing the government to pass laws and the media to push for propaganda that hurts you. So the bigger fish to fry is being financed by what you’re watching to get your mind off the big fish. I was on your side until I listened to his point and it’s spot on.

I personally stopped watching the NFL because the product was bad, but it didn't help that the league treats its players like the plantation. For a while, the product was good enough to ignore the behind the scenes stuff. But now its impossible for me to mentally divorce the racists owners and fans from the sport itself. I think its slightly off-code to support the NFL, in the way it is off code to patronize an Asian restaurant. The difference, however; is there are plenty of restaurants and nail shops and bodeagas to choose from. The best players go to the NFL. On the surface it is harmless to spend a few hours watching NFL, the ad revenue has already been paid for and its your own time that you are sacrificing. Yet there is something to be said about winning on the margins. That time spent watching football could be spent doing something constructive or productive to you our your family. The big thing is unless the players themselves wake up, there will be no changes to how they are treated as long as they go along to get along. I think the best strategy is to go after the league's sponsors. Those are the people putting money into the league's pockets. I think it is possible to boycott all the products, protest outisde their headquarters--whatever---and still sit down on SUndays with a clear conscience. I'm not one to judge. I think there are degrees to a B1 lifestyle as long as you are for Black empowerment. No one is perfect. I think as long as we are developing our discipline and getting better every day then that is what is important. But no, I don't think watching NFL is a good idea, but as someone who has admittedly done a lot of things off code (unwittingly mind you), I won't openly judge anyone about it.

The NFL’s racism is top tier that’s why I don’t watch that shit. The underpaying of Black players for brain damage because they said they came into league dumber than White players, the lack of Black coaches and QBs, the messages that leaked, the treatment of Kaep, the NFL hates Black people, the players are high paid slaves as far as the NFL is concerned. We own nothing in the NFL, they make billions off our hard labor, and guve us crumbs.

I can get with that though. I don't watch the product and haven't since a 2-3 seasons before Kaep took a knee. I think the last season I watched was the year San Francisco vs. Baltimore met in the SuperBowl. The NFL is a watered down product anymore and it's just not enjoyable to watch. I watch the NBA because I like the fundamental team play of a lot of the teams and I watch Baseball because I love the game. But like I mentioned, I understand the need to NOT be patronizing these products. We absolutely need to let go of the apron strings from all 3 sports most definitely and start our own leagues and financially support THEM instead. But, in the menatime, THIS is not an immediate issue when, again, we have an ENTIRE government that is actively and deliberately operating for the sake of our extinction. That's says nothing of the fact that we have NO financial leverage and we have no leadership to help get the ball rolling with that. And again, let me reiterate to be clear, I'm not saying boycotting isn't the right answer or that it's not something we SHOULDN'T be doing, I'm just saying we have other priorities and it shouldn't be worrying about watching a 3 hour football game and its 15 min halftime show.

I will add one adendum. If you gamble on sports and you are winning monies, then that is a constructive pursuit. Its no different from the rigged stock market.
While the NFL does not have an actual stock ticker, the environment around the league is up for grabs:
Beer, Ride sharing, sports betting and banking among other things are all apart of the breaded circus.

    "The flesh is weak"

That's been my excuse for still watching football

That and my nephew is in the league

I definitely boycotted after the Kap fiasco but I found myself still checking scores, wondering and asking who's winning, peaking in every now and then so I just said fuck it. It doesn't make me any less on code to watch, we all have our vices

    1. Because fighting White Supremacy is not an attractive option to those who value NFL escapism entertainment.

    2. Literally anyone can pretend to be an expert on sports and Black ppl invest a lot of our identity into sports/entertainment, while not properly receiving a majority of its benefits.

    3. (Black men) Inherently understand that discussing/debating sports with our white competitors is much more non-threatening then having real conversations about socioeconomics.

    4. (Most importantly) Cowardice.

I get what you saying and all that but is the NFL the on code test? What if a nigga was putting in work all day pushing for Black Empowerment and then watch NFL would that shit make all his other efforts meaningless? I get it but is this shit really the make or break that we try to make it? Is it possible to have a vice and still be pro black?

The way PBT put it makes it a clear either/or and in his framing I agree that we shouldn’t be supporting it. However I kinda don’t think it’s the litmus test that people are making it. But at the same time when dealing with a people that are looking for any reason to put their head in the sand we do need uncompromising energy.

There is nothing wrong with an LIMITED amount of escapism entertainment. On the other hand, making the NFL a PRIORTY in your life is problematic. Personally, I have a really hard time watching the NFL nowadays. I hardly care to watch and if I do, it usually highlights on YouTube because wasting my time watching a full game, is an unthinkable waste for me these days. I'd rather spend time with my wife & kid or put in work pertaining to my small business.

To many black folks go overboard with living their lives via entertainment. My FB timeline is littered with black males trash talking about this or that team playing on Sunday. Heck, I don't even need to watch TV to see who won the game. As Neely Fuller Jr. stated, Black ppl are SERIOUS about things that DON'T MATTER....and we don't take things that DO MATTER, seriously. It's hard to see black people really invest themselves in the NFL to the extent that they argue for hours about Tom Brady or the Dallas Cowboys. We as a community have much bigger fish to fry....

Niggas be knowing who is going to be traded to which team and for what price but stuck in the same deed end job. You would think knowing someone went from $20M to $30M in salary would make them want to try harder but it doesnt.

This makes me sad as it seems that sometimes we can’t unify for anything. But at the same time if Black viewership of the NFL is on a decline how would we know? We have our anecdotes but what if it is down and is having an impact? The media would never let us know. I just know I have to do my part in not supporting that filth and you are doing it as well, that’s progress.

I mean no shade whatsoever when asking this, but:
Does eating ice cream sometimes still allow one to remain vegan?
Does marrying white and non-Black partners still allow us to be B1?
Does doing drugs seldomly make one straight-edge?
Does smoking 1 cigarette a month still make one a smoker?
Does getting a good fap every once in a while still make you NoFap?

It's time to slowly start cutting NFL from your diet.
Time to slowly wean from dating whites and others if you want to B1.
It's time to detox and become clean.
Regain control of your mind and being.

Even if no purely perfect representations of B1 outside of a few ever existed, that doesn't mean we shouldn’t try to put ourselves and each other first. After all, our lives and community depend on putting ourselves, each other, and our interests first.

A lot of the bad things that have been happening to us within the last several years after Civil Rights Movement is not only due to White Supremacy and their continued bastardization of our collective interests, it is also because too many of us chose integration, interracial marriage, buying into non-stop anti-Black propaganda, falling into traps set by enemies, allyship with foreign backstabbers, abandoning the idea of only putting Black people and Black interests first, not staying on code, and helping and supporting our enemies (especially non-Black "POC", Democrats, and the NFL) that pretended to act like they were "friends" with us when they wanted something from us and wanted our support.

    It wouldn't let me edit.

I mean no shade whatsoever when asking this, but:
Does eating ice cream sometimes still allow one to remain vegan?
Does marrying white and non-Black partners still allow us to be B1?
Does doing drugs seldomly make one straight-edge?
Does smoking 1 cigarette a month still make one a smoker?
Does getting a good fap every once in a while still make you NoFap?

It's time to slowly start cutting NFL from your diet.
Time to slowly wean from dating whites and others if you want to B1.
It's time to detox and become clean.
Regain control of your mind and being.

Most of the bad things that have been happening to us within the last several years after Civil Rights Movement is not only due to White Supremacy and their continued bastardization of our collective interests.

Also, it is because too many of us fell victims to White Supremacy and got desperate to escape from under it as well as the negative effects of it (which obviously wasn't successful) and chose integration, interracial marriage, buying into non-stop anti-Black propaganda, falling into traps set by enemies, allyship with foreign backstabbers, abandoning the idea of only putting Black people and Black interests first, not staying on code, and helping and supporting our enemies (especially non-Black "POC", LGBT, hipsters, Democrats, and the NFL) that pretended to act like they were "friends" with us when they wanted something from us and wanted our support.
