Thanks mate for the words of encouragement and being supportive in this my situation because it's something that I have battled for years now. I do in fact understand the importance of having my own gun/guns for safety reasons because of how the world we live in has been for a long time now but I need to do it being in the right frame of mine, otherwise it would be threat to my own safety.

FYI To tackle ammo prices what I like to do is buddy up. Me and Friend will go half on a 500 rounds or more and then we will split the ammo up. This way neither one of us are braking the bank and we can buy in larger quantities..

Kydex is the material. It's the only type of holster I buy, and you can find some great IWB and/or OWB kydex holsters that are safe, comfortable, and affordable.

Revolvers are good and reliable, but they're not as popular as they used to be.
I prefer a striker-fired semi auto, but I would definitely trust my family's safety to a revolver.
