There needs to be more competition in this field, I've used Linux before but the learning curve for some of the distros can be a little irritating. For the time I was using Linux I liked it, Alot. I was always limited to some of the apps I could run that I ran on windows.
It would be nice to have a few OS's to choose from, MS has a damn lock on this though.

Aside from Windows, Mac, Linux and BSD, you could incorporate Haiku into your systems.

If you are so tethered into "apps that you ran on Windows" you will never be able to leave Windows and in turn, your self imposed understanding will limit your ability to see beyond a branded computing experience.

There was a young man talking about certification the other day, I talked about the adventurist spirit. If you had that outlook, you would have implemented changes into your computing already.

I'm happy about having open standards in computing so I can avoid the very thing that has man people trapped.

Yeah but if they invest like they are doing now and start competing again the brand cachet will be beneficial. You’ll start seeing stories about their epic rise back to prominence and how the new CEO brought them back to life. If I was making a computing device I personally wouldn’t GAF id be over there trying to link with TSMC but if they can get the tech and price right having intel in your device could be a selling point. Maybe it’s just nostalgia talking but that Intel Inside is still real to me.

Talking about TSMC... The whole industry is "ganging up" over Intel.

    What is this?
    @Jay

Random posts about Bitcoin. Next post is a random question about Intel. Tech is confusing sometimes.
Hey a mod rolled all the posts up into one so that we didnt have 17 harmattan posts on the front page...we love you though so keep it coming.

I had a client offer to pay me $1,500 in bitcoin about eight years ago. It seemed so weird that I insisted in fiat currency. Huge mistake.

I finally got into cryptocurrency three and a half years ago, and can't complain. However, I have noticed that privacy is being stripped away by KYC laws.

The SEC is declaring crypto a "security", and the taxman is declaring it an "asset". It is probably time to keep everything in your own cold storage for privacy. Of course fund your purchases using prepaid disposable credit cards.

I know the conversation has shifted, but I just started looking into crypto. Why don't we start an FBA crypto?
I think a smart play right now is virtual real estate, and NFTs . Black owned virtual real estate has huge potential.

I finally got into cryptocurrency almost four years ago, and was stunned by the appreciation.

Let's do it now. I'll work on system calls to the Blockchain.

I need you to implement the Carmichael function on AES encrypted events and structures instead of RSA

I'm ready when you are 😎👌

Unfortunately, I just started looking into it. After getting a (very) rough idea of the Carmichael function, I don't know what it means to implement it. Do you mean a 256-character key, or a manner of generating keys?

I suppose that, either way, controlling current currencies will help us hold wealth in this one.

My eyes lit up as soon as I saw number theory. Can we get a math topic or something?

I finally got my papers ready to form a corporation and I am always looking to work with other Black People.
If we partner, I just need you to be honest about your skill set.

Everything need not be built from the ground up. That's one of the perks of open source.

    What do you do?

I'm a massage therapist and instructor, and musician, so this is far from my professional wheelhouse, but I'm rather comfortable with computers (was introduced to LINUX in 2004). I appreciate logic, mathematics, and programming, and plan on studying neuroscience. Cryptography, blockchain, smart contracts are all new concepts for me, but the potential is obvious. It seems to me that the trick is to create blockchains wherever we need them--their value is based on how they we use them.

I don't know what I could contribute but quality ideas. On one hand, it seems transferring wealth from US$ to something that beats the inflation rate is a good idea (maybe something also attached to petrol for now, but who knows?); at the same time, being able to use our own currency, or any currency not controlled and/or dominated by WS is exciting.

DAOs seem especially interesting. Using smart contracts to remove middlemen enable complex p2p interactions. with a DAO, we would be able define the ecosystem's code. We could then use that crypto for our businesses, industries, governing. Not initially as a currency.

None of the is with confidence, just thoughts as I'm learning.

That's cool, you should join the mailing list of any open source project that deals with the things that interests you.
This is the key that gives open source its power over closed source development. You would be working with real world code, concepts and logic behind the software.

If you decide to get hooked up with one, I'll help you as much as I can.
