1. CORNEY MIMS. Look him up. Urrybody from Marvin Gaye to Snoop. This dude is the TRUTH on a bass. RIDIQQALOUS.
2. Larry Graham. Fonky as ya GRAMPA FEET, and WITHOUT him? NO SLAP.
3. Mark Adams. Made me LOVE the instrument. SEE SLAVE.
4. VERDEEN WHITE. Technical, STOOPID LICKS, WIDE GROOVE.
5. Raphael Saddiq. DUDE DOES NOT GIT HIS PROPS FOR HIS BASS WORK. Listen to "Trippin", on the Lucy Pearl album. BANANAS.
6. I cain't STICK to 5, Bruh. MARCUS MILLER SHOULDA BEEN FURSS.
YEAH, if you could mix this list, and add SCOTT DEVINE and Mark King from Level 42... Dass how I wanna sound.
Mark Adams is definitely on my list of top bass players. When Slave’s “Just a Touch of Love” dropped in ’79, it set the bass world on fire. Here’s Mark’s isolated bass on the track.
