No worries. I think the Black population of London now is around 10-12% but will have to wait for the census results to be accurate.Thanks. My memory is probably focused on London (which was 6% and now about 7-8 percent I think not sure).
That is a great question. Will have to think on that one. Thats something I'll have to look into.Anyway, with regards to any reparations discussion in England, this is interesting. So, if reparations are paid to Caricom, do any Caribbean blacks who were born there and migrated to the UK at any age get it? Should they?
There was a thread that went into, so I won't try to derail or step on that. However, depending where you are in the UK, it can be a problem. So, you touched on something else. That the Caribbean v African issue in the UK is overstated? The communities mix? What are the problems if any and even if minor?
This clip is played for laughs, but it is a common theme:
Im not so naïve to say there are no problems, however with the murders of Chris Kaba, Mark Duggan, and Chris Alder, both Caribbeans and Africans know that WS is a bigger problem. The reason why I say its now overstated, is we are all catching hell and white society do not differentiate which black person they attack.
There were problems during the 1970s and 1980s as Caribbeans didnt think Africans were doing enough to fight white supremacy. Africans tended to be insular. However, since the 90s where more Africans settled in the UK, it started to change.
There are no groups of Caribbeans fighting with groups of Africans. If you are talking gang culture, it tends to be postcode wars as opposed to ethnicity. It is different for Somalis, as they are Somali only gangs, but with regards the rest of Africa against Caribbeans it is not a thing.
